Crazy Hair day

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

This week at school we are having crazy hair day! I had no idea what to do with my hair at first but then I went on the internet and I found something... A PUMPKIN! Not just any pumpkin but a pumpkin made of hair!

Here (not hair) is a photo of my crazy hair:

Isn't just amazing?
Well If you want to see more, then here is some other crazy hair "do's" that the kids in my class have:

That last one was quite crazy, right?
Well my favourite one out of all of those was.... MINE!

Now here is the quote of the week, I ❤ QUOTES!

Silk

Hi and welcome back to my blog! I hope that you and all of your friends and family are feeling awesome today!

One day I was at school and my friend came up to me and said: "Hey Kaylin, look what I found! It's a website called Silk and you can make generative art!" So I tried the website out and I found that it was actually really fun!
Here is a link to Silk: Silk

And here is some pictures of my silk drawings:

Aren't they just fabulous!

The reason I like silk is because you can control the symmetrical-ness of it and you can blend the colors of it to make it look pretty. Now why don't you give it a go!

And now, what you have all been waiting for... THE QUOTE OF THE WEEK!

Well, bye everyone! I hope your day is going well for you!

My Camp Letter

Hi there! I hope that you are having a GREAT day!

A few weeks ago the year six's went on camp to Wainui. We had the greatest time ever! Some of the activities were raft building, kayaking, campfire and abseiling. My most favourite activity was kayaking. The reason I liked kayaking was that we were out on the water all the time and I love the water. One thing that I was scared about when I was in the kayak was that I was scared that I would tip the boat over and fall in! One of the boys in my group fell in the water and he got absolutely soaked!
Here is the letter that I wrote to the parent that helped us on camp:
Dear Fergus

Camp was awesome! I really loved camp and I hope you did too. The most challenging activity was abseiling because my foot got stuck at the top, but I eventually got my foot out. When I abseiled down off the tree it felt like I was floating in the air but I almost fell into the river!

What was your favourite part of the camp? Mine was kayaking. It was my favourite because we were allowed to go really fast and I love the feel of air and seawater in my face.

Here is my highlight of camp that I have written about..

Kayaking:

I heard...

Water sloshing as I rowed after the instructor

I heard...

A big BANG! As someone bumped into my kayak

I saw...

Seaweed floating past me like a dead plant

I Felt...

Bitterly cold water settling under me as Lucas dived into my kayak

I Felt...

Like a professional kayaker rowing to the finish line

I Wondered...

If I would fall into the icy water

I Wondered...

How far we were from the shore

I wonder what your favourite activity was? Mine was definitely kayaking!

Thank you so much for coming on camp with us! You are very kind to take the time to come and join us. I really enjoyed you helping us in search and rescue. That took a lot of effort to find the hiders.

Thank you also for the extraordinarily yummy food you prepared on camp. It was just devine! I especially loved the pasta and the salad, mainly because I LOVE salad! Thank you for helping me with abseiling and cheering me on.

Your friend,

Kaylin😋

Did you like my camp letter? Have you ever been to Wainui before? If you have, please feel free to comment below! I LOVE comments!

Well, here is the quote of the week, I don't think I will ever run out of quotes!

I hope that the quote that I put up makes you feel good about yourself.

See you in the next post!

Egg Sitting!

Welcome back to my blog! I hope you are having an awesome day!

At the moment our class are doing egg sitting! What's egg sitting you ask? Well it's when you baby sit an egg, but you have to make sure that you don't leave your egg unattended! Once that part of the egg sitting challenge is done, we get to make a few adjustments to our egg house and then we go up to the top platform of the playground and drop the house with the egg in it.
Here is a picture of my egg:

And this is my house and pouch for my egg:

My friend and I made a big house called the Blossom house hold!

The Playground:

And the hideout:
I also made another little hut for Iggy:

The Name for my egg is...
IGGY BLOSSOM JR.!
But I just call her Iggy for short!

I hope that you learnt something about egg sitting today and here is the quote of the week:

See you next time!

Noun Poem

Hi everyone! I hope you have had a great week!

This week our class has been writing noun poems.
What are noun poems?
Well noun poems are when you take a noun and put a descriptive word in front of it.
Here's an example: Sweet lollipop.
So this is my noun poem that I wrote about Monkeys.

Monkeys

Monkeys
Monkeys
Monkeys

Massive Monkeys,
Miniature Monkeys,
Big fat lazy Monkeys
Greedy hungry chunky Monkeys
Those are just a few.

Lady Monkeys,
Sir Monkeys,
Big fat stinky Monkeys
Silly funny coo-coo Monkeys
Mischievous Monkeys too.

Happy Monkeys,
Friendly Monkeys,
Don’t forget the cheeky Monkeys,
Last of all, best of all

I like crazy monkeys!

I hope that you liked my poem as I spent a lot of time on it! Here is the message of the week:

Oamaru Dance Competitions

Hey there! I hope you are having a great day!

In the weekend I went to Oamaru for my dance Competitions. This was my first ever time going to Oamaru for comps (that's competitions, just shortened!) and it was held at the opera house. In the auditorium the judge sat on the seats above everyone else and overhead there is a great big chandelier! The judge was quite tough so I got quite a few no-mentions but I did get sixth in my jazz duo.

If you are wondering how many medals I have ever got then here's the answer: 46 medals! Yep, that's right! Now you are probably wondering what they look like so here is a few pictures of them:

These are my exam awards:

And these are my competition awards:

Well, those are my medals!
So, these are the types of dance that I do:

And those are all of the types of dance that I do.
I hope you enjoyed my post and learnt something too.
